I'm in Croatia, Water You Doing?

I wish we would've been able to spend more time in London, but I'm secretly glad to be leaving the gloomy weather (this gal is NOT a fan of rain lol). Moving on with our trip, we arrived in southern Croatia, and I am absolutely in love!! I've always wanted to travel to Eastern Europe to see the cities and experience the culture. Deservingly known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful and friendliest places I have ever been to!

THE AIRBNB

We stayed at this Airbnb, part of Apartments Mia, straight above the center of Dubrovnik. Seeing that we had the entire home to ourselves with a private terrace overlooking the Adriatic Sea really sold us on booking this apartment! Waking up every morning and being able to walk out to this view gave us such a great start to our day.

The apartment is located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, and so convenient, just a walking distance from the Old Town entrance. Because of all the stairs you would have to take up to the apartment though, we still ended up taking Uber's a lot.

ACTIVITIES

City Walls

One of the main attractions of Old Town Dubrovnik is the Dubrovnik City Walls, a series of ancient defensive stone walls surrounding the city.

The city walls were started in 13th century and finished in 1660 when the last of the towers, the St. Stephen's Bastion located at the southern part of the walls, were completed. The view during the walk along the walls was just truly spectacular!

Mount Srd Cable Car

During the short cable car ride up, we could see the island of Lokrum, the bay of Lapad and the Elaphite Islands. We went to the bar area of Restaurant Panorama at the top of the cable cars on Mount Srd for drinks and to watch the sunset. This is definitely a must-try spot to stop by if you're taking the cable cars up; the panoramic view of the Adriatic riviera is BREATHTAKING, and the staff is so friendly!

THE FOOD

The food in Croatia is so good! They have a wide range of seafood, which I just absolutely love.

Dalmatino

Walking around one night looking for dinner options, we came across Dalmatino. The restaurant's concept is based on traditional cuisine with a modern approach, meaning they prepare and present traditional and local products in a modern way. Based on the server's recommendation, several of us at the table got the Žrnovski Makaruli with Beef Cheeks (slow cooked) topped with Grana Padano Cheese for our main course. This dish is a pasta that has an elongated, rolled form with good chew combined with the au jus sauce and cheese, which together created a rich flavor.

Lady PI-PI

Don't let the climb up to Lady Pipi steer you away from this spot! They don't take reservations, and I can see why people are willing to wait in line to eat here. The outdoor restaurant is just too cute, with a pergola covering its split-level terrace. The items on their menu consist mostly of mouthwatering grilled dishes. We wanted to try everything so ended up ordering their big platters of fish, sausages, shrimps, and steaks, which I highly recommend.

Gradska Kavana: Taverna Arsenal

We went to this Mediterranean restaurant with a vaulted interior and beautiful terrace by the old port for brunch on our last day in Dubrovnik. Although I'm a huge fan of brunch, I actually don't like most breakfast foods, but I really liked the food we ordered here and that every entree came with a wide variety of items. I got the Vegetarian Breakfast, which came with a hot drink of your choice (I ordered earl grey tea), orange juice, croissant, grilled vegetables, fruit salad, mozzarella, and tomatoes.

Konoba Pupo

This was the first restaurant we stopped at for lunch after we dropped our bags off at the Airbnb. Walking around Old Town, we stumbled upon Konoba "PUPO" located in the centre inside the city walls. I wasn't super hungry but wanted a small bite to eat and love grilled octopus, so I got one of the cold starters, the Octopus Salad Served with Radicchio, which was so fresh.

OUTFIT DETAILS

I brought my Steve Madden slip-on sneakers on the Euro trip because they're so comfy and just the ultimate travel shoe. I'm so glad I decided to wear them instead of flip flops during the walk around the city walls, which was longer than I expected. The ones I'm wearing are sold out but I'm linking similar styles that are currently on sale below.

I'm wearing a white cami tiered dress that I bought from Hollister about two years ago. It's pretty shapeless, so it's not the most flattering on me, but I'm linking a similar dress from Hollister, the High-Neck Tiered Eyelet Dress ($35.97) in White Lace, which has a better fit.

I'm sad that we're getting close to the end of this Euro trip as we pack our bags once again for Amsterdam, but I will definitely sea you again, Dubrovnik!
